A peaceful oasis – Harbour Island and Windermere Island
We have explored nearly every cove of Harbour Island and larger Eleuthera , unoccupied when the first British settlers arrived in the 17th century. The Queens Bath (a collection of natural pools) on the latter is quite extraordinary. Private Island, Windermere Windermere Island, which is joined to Eleuthera by a bridge, is where we spent an awesome day on the beach. There are five miles of golden sand, peaceful lagoons and fiery sunsets. Over the decades, Windermere Island has retained its reputation of being home to those looking for privacy. Accessible only by a small guarded bridge that connects it to the mainland, and by invitation only.
