Ponza This year we sailed straight to southern Italy, drawn once again by the pre-season atmosphere of its islands in May - empty anchorages, slower rhythms, and that quiet beauty just before summer begins. Days in Ponza, Prima del Risveglio (Ponza in Its Softest Season) Start with the empty anchorages, wander past the whitewashed houses in shades of blue and pink, stop at the cemetery, and keep climbing until the vineyards open up to that view from above. That’s Ponza in May. What a privilege it is to move with the wind and wake each morning to a different horizon. To arrive not by road, but by sea - watching a city slowly emerge from the morning light, its character revealed first by its coastline, then by its quiet details ashore. To spend a day wonderfully exhausted by discovery. To trade possessions for passages, routines for horizons, and things for moments that linger far longer. Life under sail has a way of refining your perspective. It teaches presence, gratitude, and the quiet art of noticing. And perhaps that is the greatest luxury of all: not simply to see the world, but to be fully awake to it.  Days like these are a reminder that the greatest wealth isn’t what we collect, but the moments we’re lucky enough to live. Open hands, open sea, open heart. Grateful for the wind, the miles, and the presence to truly notice it all. Nel mondo regna il caos, ma su una certezza si può sempre contare: la cucina italiana. Pesce spada e alici, dopo un’intera giornata di mare. 🌊🇮🇹
