Whether you’ve only spent a handful of days on the sand in your life or you’re a full-blown sunseeker, there are plenty of breathtaking beaches on Kefalonia & Ithaka waiting to be discovered.

We were absolutely blown away by Myrtos Beach and the seaside towns of Assos and Fiskardo. These truly are some of the most amazing spots in Greece.

Fiskardo: This colourful village is one of the most picturesque spots we’ve seen. Well-known by sailors and yachties, this beautiful village is becoming more popular.

Petani Beach:

20km north west of Argostoli! This is a beautiful beach that reminds a lot the bay of Myrtos, the most famous beach on Kefalonia. It is located in the peninsula of Lixouri, on the western side of the island.

A curved seafront lines the sand and pebble dashed beach! One of the favoured local traditions is swimming in the evening to watch the sea change colour as the sun sets in the west.

Myrtos Beach:

Location: 30 km north of Argostoli Description: Myrtos is the most famous and beautiful beach of Kefalonia. It is actually a large coast with turqoise water and white sand, surrounded by steep cliffs.

Oh there’s more…there’s always more. More islands, more wonderful people, more adventures, but I’ll stop there and just tell you that of all the places we’ve been this year Greece is our favourite.  The open, humble, generous people, fresh healthy food, the affordability and the beauty of it all won’t be soon forgotten.
